Privacy Policy

Account information. If you create an account we store your email address, display name, and optional profile photo so you can sign in and be recognised by people you plan with.

Trip content you create. Trip folders, trip titles, destinations, dates, saved places, pasted links from services like Instagram or TikTok, place details, notes, tips, times, and the order of your days.

Collaboration information. Invitations you send and the role each person has on a trip (owner, editor, or viewer).

Location information. Coordinates of the places you save so they can be shown on the map. If you choose to share your device location for a nearby search, we use it for that search only and do not store a location history. You can refuse or revoke this permission at any time in your device settings.

Photos and media. Images you upload or images fetched from links you paste, used to illustrate your saved places.

Technical and usage information. Device type, app or browser version, language, crash reports, and basic usage events used to keep the app working and to fix problems.

• To create your account and let you sign in.
• To save, display, map, and reorder your trips, folders, and places.
• To turn a link you paste into a place with a name, category, and map location.
• To generate suggested descriptions, tips, and recommendations for places.
• To share a trip with the people you invite, at the role you choose.
• To keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and diagnose crashes.
• To send service messages such as invitations and important account notices.

When you paste a link, ask for recommendations, or optimise a day's route, the relevant text (for example a link, a place name, or a destination) is sent to our AI provider to generate the result. This content is processed to answer your request and is not used by us to build advertising profiles. Suggestions may be inaccurate or outdated — please confirm details such as opening hours and prices before you rely on them.

We share information only in these situations: with people you invite to a trip; with service providers who host our database, storage, authentication, mapping, and AI features and act on our instructions; and when required by law or to protect the safety and rights of our users. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-app advertising or tracking.

We keep your trips and account information while your account is active. You can delete an individual place, a trip folder, or your entire account at any time from the app. When you delete your account we remove your trips, saved places, and profile from our live systems, and from backups within 30 days. Content you shared with collaborators may remain visible in trips they own.

To request a copy of your data or a deletion you cannot complete in the app, email privacy@mapadot.app.

Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored with access controls so that each trip is only readable by its owner and the collaborators invited to it. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.

mapadot is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to certain processing. Contact us at the address below and we will respond within the time required by law.

Our providers may process data in countries other than yours, including the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for those transfers.

If we make a material change we will update the date at the top of this page and, when appropriate, notify you in the app or by email.
